Tasmania Police and @[100064936682105:2048:Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service] Rangers responded to reports of hooning, anti-social behaviour, damage to reserve land and other offences at Lime Bay State Reserve and campgrounds overnight Saturday-Sunday. During the response, police and rangers spent almost two hours recovering a 4WD after it became heavily bogged in a lagoon area where vehicle access is prohibited. An 18-year-old Southern Tasmanian man was issued a $410 infringement notice for driving in a non-designated area on reserve land and was cautioned for three further offences. The offending caused significant damage to the lagoon area. Investigations are ongoing into other matters in the area including illegal fires which were left smouldering and rubbish which had been discarded. Police and rangers will continue to patrol national parks, state reserves, and campgrounds, and will take action where offences are detected. Visitors are reminded to do the right thing by carrying a valid Parks Pass in National Parks, following signage, staying on formed roads and tracks, respecting other users, and not lighting unauthorised fires or leaving rubbish behind.
