From Community perspective many are observing the week of silence: this is to enable conventions with mob on where to from here, how do we care for each other and not lose hope. There are many of us who feel completely rejected and hurt (as I’m sure many of you are also feeling, so as to not take away from that). The state government have circulated an email in full from community members supporting the week of silence and to offer support and understanding during this time.
I am hosting community gatherings this week for Aboriginal community members and the response has been overwhelming where they need space to feel safe, talk freely, cry if needed, participate in weaving or cultural craft, sit around a fire, be fed a cultural meal and just be with each other.

I think there is still a space for YES- yes for solidarity, yes for Community, yes for change, yes for truth telling, yes for calling out racism, yes to holding people accountable, yes for justice issues, yes to continuing the conversations, yes to Allyship.
I could go on, but you guys all know this and you are all fabulous.
Maybe don’t put away the YES tops just yet ❤️🖤💛✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

For them it was simply about listening to us. Not doing anything, not loosing anything, just listening.
Whilst this is a really really hard hit to my spirit, what I have found in this group, is hope. Hope that we now have Allies in the trenches with us, that understand what we are facing every single day. I’m grateful for each and every one of you for all your efforts. I drove to the city yesterday and seen a large YES mob and literally broke down. I went away camping to be away from social media and had all my dreams for that unified future dashed in a heartbeat the minute I came into service with messages from friends and allies sharing their dismay and heartache. I think as a country all the yes voters are mourning with us. Please know that from the bottom of my heart and that of my community- I thank you all. ❤️❤️❤️

However, I was contacted by Brian Mitchell's office (I don't have enough familiarity with local politics to click that that was odd) and they delivered me a box labelled Broadmarsh but I've had no contact with anyone but Lachlan. I've asked him and the Brian Mitchell contact to explain but haven't heard back yet. After the zoom tonight I realised the box is missing vital things: roster, contact list, corflutes, scrutineering sheet. I'm a bit stressed about the whole thing actually. I realised at Friday drinks that the "Broadmarsh" box label may not be an inconsequential error.
What made you think Glenorchy B.C wasn't covered? Just wondering if that could provide another piece on the jigsaw....

Is anyone who isn’t volunteering on polling day already (I don’t want to cause more scheduling issues) interested in being a booth captain for Glenorchy Central (455 Main Road) or Moonah Community Centre (7 Gormanston)? It involves setting up and packing down the booth, wrangling volunteers and arranging scrutineers on the day (getting one of the vollies or yourself to go into the polling place before 6pm and watch the count). I can talk you through the process and there is a recording of a meeting we had ❤️

Just finished some door knocking in Claremont with a team of 6 awesome volunteers this week!
We finished a zone of 250 houses.
Two volunteers had an exceptionally positive experience - they were stoked - they felt they had good chats to unsure and even switched some to voting yes.
The other area was a little tougher - majority of no voters including a large portion of people who had already voted. We didn't spend any time with them. Because we did have a number of conversations with unsure.
So a satisfactory effort by all! Well done!

Hello all. The Collinsvale Market is on tomorrow from 10-2pm at the hall. I'm going to go in my t-shirt, take some leaflets and find a place to stand and hand them out to people as they go in and out. Then if people want to talk to us they can, but they can just walk past too.

Hi everyone!

I hope you had an awesome weekend! I'm sorry that we didn't get to knock doors together on Saturday due to the inclement morning weather. But the Moonah group did knock in the light drizzle Saturday afternoon and we had a fantastic experience! Also the knock in Glenorchy Sunday morning was very positive. And the turn out for the walk in Hobart yesterday arvo was immense!

For Claremont and Chigwell specifically, I am absolutely convinced that we can knock on all houses in the short sprint we have left. Here's why :

- we have 3 weekends left.
- we have 30 passionate and active volunteers here in our group and we are growing!
- there are 4300 dwellings in the Chigwell/Claremont area

Therefore, this equals :
= 140 dwellings to knock per person
= 50 dwellings per weekend per person (or as little as 25 per day)

We all know the conversations we have in the following weeks are crucial and this short month ahead is in fact our big opportunity! More specifically, each person's individual effort, made by each one of us, is vital towards winning the referendum nationwide!

(Ps If you haven't door knocked before/yet, I encourage you to do it, or if you just want help getting started, send me a message this week and we can do it together).

Yeah, the No Campaign are targeting South Australia and Tasmania - you need Both a majority of states and majority popular vote for a referendum to be successful. SA and Tas, are considered to the “swing” states.

I live in Newtown, work in Rosny as a GP, and I'm voting YES because I think this could be the most important health issue in Australia in 2023 and because a majority of indigenous leaders asked for constitutional recognition and the Voice. And I believe that what will determine the referendum outcome will be the summation of the millions of individual conversations that will take place across Australia over the following short 6 weeks. Conversations like the ones we have here and door to door!

I have been strictly non political for 10+ years and I didn't know much about the content of the vote until over the last week and my first door knock was yesterday and it was heaps of fun!

I am learning and listening as I go, and I am interested in and do respect the diverse NO opinions, but I believe that if things stay the same then the same comparatively poorer indigenous outcomes will continue. And in contrast if we vote YES, very good things for indigenous and non indigenous Australians are possible and likely.
